2nd Shooting: Megan and Kevin

Dear Photographers,When given the opportunity to 2nd shoot, do it!

Second shooting is so beneficial. While yes it can still be stressful because you want to produce the best images you can for the main photographer, you don't have near the pressure you do on a wedding day when you are the primary photographer. You are able to gain a new perspective, and see weddings and photography in a whole new light. It is a good chance to learn from other photographers, and if you are lucky enough to be second shooting for someone who is willing to share the art of photography, you can ask questions (during down time of course).

This is where Beth Berry of Beth Berry Photography comes in. Beth gave me the opportunity to come along and shoot the wedding of Kevin and Megan with her. Beth was willing to answer any questions I had and she was a great example of how to stay both relaxed and in control the entire day. I have gawked at Beth's work for a while now, so needless to say I was SUPER excited to 2nd shoot for her!

It was a cold, snowy, no let me rephrase that...blizzard like day! Megan and Kevin were married inside of an adorable church in St. Louis called the Little Flower. From there we braved the snowy roads for some bridal party pictures at an art gallery. And then we got crazy. We went downtown to take some pictures in front of Busch Stadium since Kevin and Megan spent their first date cheering on the Cardinals. And our last stop before the reception? Ted Drews for some frozen custard!

Tying the Knot: Michelle and Andy

When I met Andy and Michelle a few months back, I knew right off the bat, they were going to be a fun, easy going couple to work with. They were both so laid back, their only concerns for the day were to marry each other and to have fun doing it! They were surrounded by a close group of friends and family. We started the day off at Our Redeemer. Photobucket Photobucket

Andy and Michelle have a son named Jackson. He is a small ball of joy! Seriously, he was so smiley and I did not see him fuss one time all day!

I don't think there was ever a moment when the dance floor was empty. EVERYONE at this wedding knew how to get their dance on! And then there was this hat...it made its way around the dance floor bringing out the inner dance star in everyone it touched! haha!

Hello there Spring...Where did you come from?

Is it just me or is this year flying by? I mean, are we really already half way through April? I know people say time goes by faster and faster with each year of life...but at this rate, I can't imagine what a year will feel like by the time I'm 60.
Here's a mini update on my life as of this month.
Wedding season has officially kicked off.
Head for the Cure was a huge success.
Someday, I'm going to make an awesome trophy wife...minus the trophy part.
I have some very exciting sessions coming up this weekend...including my sister's engagement session.
Adam surprised me last night and we are going to Florida in June! I know. Best. Husband. Ever.

All of these things will be up on the blog in the near future. But first, a teaser from Andy and Michelle's wedding. Check back soon for the full sneak peek! Photobucket

Enough is Enough.

These are the words that are written in the cartoon bubbles above their heads, every time I get my camera out. But I can't help it! They are just so darn cute. God help all future children of mine. They are never going to know what my face looks like....alone...without a camera attached.

Just how am I supposed to resist freezing the memory of this adorable face?
