Senior Class of 2011: Kira

A couple of weeks ago I met up with Kira and her mom for Kira's senior session. Kira wanted a field so the two of them set out in search for the perfect location around their town. When I walked up to the location I couldn't have been more excited!

Kira, you are soooo gorgeous and taking your photos made me really regret not getting senior photos of my own done when I was in High School!

Danielle+Dominck: Engaged

I remember being a freshman in youth group. We would show up about an hour early so we could catch up with our friends...who we just saw in school 2 hours prior. I remember when Danielle started coming along with me on Wednesday nights to North County Community Church. And I remember the nerdy kid with glasses who was head over heels for my little sister, the minute he saw her. Fast forward about a decade and those two little 6th graders are now grown up, in love, and getting married!

Danielle is the last of the "Malabanan Sisters" to get hitched. And while Dominick has already basically been a part of our family for many years now, I'm excited to officially gain another brother in law!

And for the record. Dominick transformed from a nerdy 6th grader with glasses into a very handsome young man!

Baby Bump: Adam & Michelle

To my mother and mother in law who are both jumping out of their seats right now racing to your cell phones to call and yell at me because you can't believe this is the way we would tell you we we are pregnant....relax. It's not us.

Michelle and I met back in college. We were in the same pledge class in our sorority at Rolla. During our pledge retreat we realized we had more in common than just pledging Chi Omega. After everyone went to bed the two of us stayed up chatting, the entire night. We were both dating our high school sweet hearts...both of which are named Adam. I left home and followed my Adam to Rolla, while Michelle left Rolla to be with her Adam at home. Now they are married and expecting a baby girl in June who they are naming Millie. So cute right?!

This session was the first time I had the chance to meet Adam but it was immediately obvious, Adam and Michelle are absolutely perfect for one another! They are so much fun to be around and at the end of our time together my face hurt from laughing.

Our original plans of shotting at Forest Park were quickly changed due to rain. However, after some indoor photos at Ameristar the rain stopped so we headed to Main Street. When Michelle pulled out an umbrella and asked, "would this be cute?" I was super excited...because duh. It's adorable.

Michelle, it was so great to see you again after all of these years, and Adam it was so nice to finally meet you! I am so happy for the two of you and so excited to see you start this next chapter in your lives as you become parents. You two are going to be a fabulous mommy and daddy to Millie. Thank you both for being so much fun and for being the sweet couple you are!
...And who knows, maybe one day we will have a little girl, and name her Millie...why break the trend now?

....And Don't Forget the Flowers

Let me preface this story with this. I am not a roses and daisies type of girl. I have never really been into getting flowers for holidays. I mean come on...who wants a gift that is going to die in a matter of days?! However, when given unexpectedly, spontaneously, and sporadically, flowers can be sweet.

Anyways...onto the story. A while back Adam was scheduled to go to Kansas City for work to help out with some boring engineering mumbo jumbo that I couldn't put into Lamen's terms if I tried. He was going to be gone Monday through Friday, leaving me home alone, with my computer and my dogs. First thing Monday morning he headed for KC. At the end of the day he was extremely tired, so a quick good night was the extent of our phone conversation. He was off to bed, as I was off to a night full of editing.

After work the following day I was pooped. I fell asleep on the couch to some cheesy sitcom. Just about the time I fell into a really deep sleep I heard the garage door. Too out of it to do anything I just sat there frozen in my snuggie, with my eyes as wide as my head.

It was Adam. It turns out they didn't need him in Kansas City after all. As he turned Kitchen corner with his hands behind his back he said surprise and held out and empty clenched fist and told me to pretend there were flowers in it. He had driven around for over an hour in search for a florist, as the Garmin sent him on a wild goose chase. Hey, it's the thought that counts he said.

Fast forward a few weeks and Adam has been called out of town again. As I begged for him not to go over our morning cup of coffee, I asked him if he would be home early to surprise me again....and if so don't forget the flowers. We both laughed and went on our way.

This time around he did not come home from his trip early, however, I did come home to an empty house, my computer, my dogs, and these. Everybody now...awwwww.

This makes the 3rd time I have received flowers from Adam in our 8 years together...and that's just the way I like it. The second time was this night.

Baby Jack

Prior to Jack's arrival I took his parents photos at Forest Park in the freezing cold. Since then the weather has warmed up...well slightly, and Jack has made his big debut! From what I hear Maggie was a real trooper at the hospital as she welcomed baby Jack into the world. Once again I had so much fun hanging out with Maggie and Danny and or course, I was so excited to meet little Jack!
