The beginnings of a Boot Obsession

Their friendship goes back to their high school days. Back to the days of first learning to drive, boys, vasity sports, Prom, and graduation. Three of them would go to the Mizzou while the other two would start their college journey elsewhere. But their friendship remained the same.

These 5 girls are best friends. I mean best friends. The entire session I felt like I was hanging out with a close group of sisters. They were hilarious....and when it was time to head home, my cheeks were sore from laughing.

Ok so this really didn't start my boot obession, but it definitely fueled the fire! Look at how cute they are!

Happy Christmas

The shopping is done, presents are wrapped, food plans our made and we are home. Christmas is finally here! I am more excited about Christmas this year than ever before. The reason? I can't pinpoint just one, but I have this overwhelming feeling of excitment! Maybe it is because this is the first year Adam and I have put up a tree. Maybe it's because our tree was eight dollars at a garage sale. Maybe it's the fact that it took us three trips to Hobby Lobby, one batch of monkey bread, and an entire Saturday to decorate our eight dollar tree. Maybe it's because my Pandora Christmas station rocks.

Or maybe it's because I am home with family and the only thing on my list of things to do for this weekend is to celebrate the birth of Christ with those I love the most.

Enjoy the little things this Christmas.

2011

With 2011 around the corner I have decided to post some of my goals for the upcoming year, both professional and personal, and in no particular order. After failing miserably at my new year's resolution last year to abstain from eating cheese....yes no cheese at all....I am going to do my best to set some attainable goals for 2011. Who ever thought a zero tolerance cheese policy was a good goal in the first place?

Launch my website.
Work out a minimum of 2 days per week, I know it's pathetic, but I have to start somewhere.
Take a picture a day.
Obtain my membership in Grace Bible Church.
LLC's. Tax ID's. And all that other business stuff.
No fast food...Starbucks, Bread Company, and Jimmy Johns DON'T COUNT!
ROCK OUT the weddings I have booked, and the ones I will book in the upcoming months.
Cook for Adam...more than one meal a month. I used to cook dinner ever night...and then I got a camera.
Get back to my wedding weight.
Practice. Practice. Practice.
Upgrade my camera.
Spend more time with our families. As if I am not home enough. I can't help it! I have the best families a girl could ask for!
Read my Bible more...much more.
Book more Rock Your Knot Sessions because they are a blast!
Take a trip to the beach with Adam.
Read the Harry Potter series before the release of the final movie.
Marathon Session in Chicago.
Encourage Adam more, complain less.
Remain conscious of 1 Thessalonians 5:18 and give thanks in all circumstances

And last but not least I will give more time and attention to my little guys, Guinto and Dyster! That means more play time, more walks, and more snuggle time!

oh...and more blog time! I haven't posted pictures of them since my first post back in JULY.
Happy Thursday to all! Have a great weekend!

Dear Faust Park,

You have been so good to me....but it is time we go our separate ways for a while.

I love Faust Park! The atmosphere, the reactions I see when I meet a family there for the first time, the pictures that come out of it. However, it is time that I step out of my comfort zone that is Faust Park. Next year I will make it a goal of mine to not use it as my go to park, just for the sake of comfort or convenience.

My last session at Faust for the year could not have been any better! As many of you know, my friend Amy (who is also a photographer) and her husband quickly uprooted from the midwest to Las Vegas after Thanksgiving. She didn't have a lot of notice and between packing, school, jobs, and planning for a baby, she didn't have the time to squeeze in all of her scheduled sessions before she left. She graciously asked me to take over a session which included some of her family members. I am quite thankful she did because I had a great time with this tight knit group! It was cold and windy but we made the best of it!

Janice and Family, thank you thank you thank you! You all were amazing! I had so much fun and you were all troopers in the cold!
Amy, thank you for giving me the opportunity to take over for you when you had to leave for Vegas with just a couple weeks notice! I hope I made you proud! :)
And Thank You Faust. You have been good to me this year!

The More the Merrier: Farmer Family Fun

What do you get when you combine 1 lovely couple, 5 boys, 1 girl, and a dog too cute for words?
The Farmer Family!

Megan and I have been friends since high school! She is currently fulfilling her dream job, teaching little ones in Chicago! When she called me to do a family session I was super excited. When she called me from the mall as she was deciding on a color scheme for their outfits...I thought nothing of it. You see, Megan is a little bit Type A...(perhaps a result of being the oldest of 6)... so of course, when she plans something, no detail is left behind!

I would say she did a pretty fantastic job!

If one of these boys looks familiar, it's because Dominick has been on the blog before, alongside my beautiful baby sister!

Everyone Loves A Harris

If you live in St. Louis, chances are...you either are
1. A Harris
2. Married to a Harris
3. Related to a Harris
They are a huge family, with a lot of love! My sister Malorie married into the Harris family when she and Thomas said "I Do" almost 4 years ago...and of course they had a little baby Harris...my Kiley Bella.

Malorie and I go way back. We are less than 2 years apart and even though she is younger than I am, I have always looked up to her...even when I was too cool to admit it. She is one of the most beautiful and God fearing women I have ever known and I am so blessed to have her as my sister!
